MUMBAI: Nepal’s Supreme Court has dealt a major blow to caretaker Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Leader of the Opposition and Nepal Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been ordered to be sworn in as Prime Minister within two days. Deuba will be sworn in as Prime Minister on Tuesday.

Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the 275-member parliament in May. Election dates were then announced in November. Several petitions were filed in the Supreme Court against this decision.

All the petitions were being heard before a five-judge bench for a week. In this case, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana has ordered Sher Bahadur Deuba to be sworn in as the Prime Minister within two days and also to quash the decision to dissolve Parliament.
