England bowler Sam Karan shone with a brilliant run-outin the second T20 against Sri Lanka. The return of Lankan batsman Danushka Gunathilaka using a football technique has gone viral. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field. Openers Avishka Fernando and Danushka Gunathilaka started the innings. In the second over of the innings, Fernando attempted a shot off the third ball by Sam Karan. However, the ball hit the bat and remained on the pitch.

Given a chance for a single, the non-strike gave a call to the end-of-the-range Fernando. However, Karan was already there and in the blink of an eye he kicked the ball towards the wickets with his foot using the football technique. That’s it .. the ball squandered the wickets before reaching the quality crease. With this it joined the pavilion as an unexpected attribute burden. England won the series 2-0 with one match to go after a Duckworth-Lewis-style win over Sri Lanka. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 111 for 7 in 20 overs. Kushal Mendis (39; 3 fours, six) was the top scorer. Among the England bowlers, Mark Wood (2/18) and Adil Rashid (2/24) excelled. With England raining during the innings, the team set a target of 103 in 18 overs. England lost 5 wickets in 16.1 overs and won by 108 runs. Sam Billings (24; 2 fours), ‘Man of the Match’ Livingstone (29 not out off 26 balls; six), Sam Karan (16 not out off 8 balls; four, six) sealed the victory for England. The final third T20 match will be played today.
