The State Election Commission has announced the election schedule for the by-elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions to be held this month. As per the schedule, the notification for these by-elections will be issued on July 14.
Here will be the election program- Public notice will be issued on July 14 for the by-elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions. After this, nomination papers can be submitted on July 19 from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on 20th July and the last date for withdrawal of nominations was kept till 3 pm on 20th July. Allotment of election symbols will be done on July 22.
The polling time for the bye-election will be from 7:30 am to 5.30 pm on July 25, while the counting of votes will also begin on the same day immediately after the poll ends. The election for the Deputy Sarpanch will be held on July 26 (Monday).
Chief Electoral Officer and Secretary Chitra Gupta informed that by-elections will be held on vacant posts of Sarpanch in 50 Gram Panchayats of the state and vacant posts of Up Sarpanch and Ward Panchs in these Gram Panchayats.
