NEW DELHI: A few weeks back, Kartik Aaryan was in the news for being dropped from Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’. Dharma Productions had also shared a statement regarding this on social media, in which they had informed about this. However, Kartik Aaryan did not react to the breakup with Karan.

There was a lot of talk about this ‘incident’ in the film industry and concerns were expressed about Kartik Aaryan’s career. At the same time, the speculation about his next project continued. Now on June 23, Karthik has announced his next film, putting an end to all the speculations.

Kartik’s next film titled ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’ marks the beginning of the jugalbandi between Kartik and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The film will be produced by Namah Pictures along with Sajid Nadiadwala. The film will be directed by National Award winning director Sameer Vidwans. Sameer is going to make his Bollywood debut with ‘Satyanarayana Ki Katha’. The film is set to go on floors later this year.

Kartik Aaryan on his association with Sajid said- “I have been wanting to work with Sajid sir for some time now, I could not have expected a better start than this. I am extremely happy to be a part of the vision of Sajid sir, Shareen and Kishor. Satyanarayan Ki Katha is a musical love story. This is also my first film with Sameer sir, who has mastered the skill of presenting sensitive subjects in an entertaining manner.” Karthik further added, “Honestly, I am feeling a lot of pressure and responsibility as I am part of this team. I am the only member without a National Award.”

Sajid said on the casting of Kartik – “This will be our first time working with Kartik and he has brought a whole new energy to the project. Satyanarayan’s Katha is a script that is perfect for this combination.”

Sajid Nadiadwala and Namah Pictures and director Sameer Vidwans won the National Award in 2019 for their films Chhichhore (Best Feature Film) and Anandi Gopal (Best Film on Social Issues). Currently, Karthik’s film ‘Dhamaka’ is going to be released on Netflix.
