MUMBAI: Indian young opener Prithviraj Shah is all set to leave for England soon. Shubhman Gill, the young opener of the Indian Test team selected for the England tour, has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Team India management is holding out for Prithviraj to replace him. Although openers like Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Ishwaran are available in the squad, it seems that the management has suggested to the Indian selectors that Prithviraj should be Shane.

The Indian team under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan is currently on the tour of Sri Lanka. Prithvi Shah is the team opener. The Indian team will play three ODIs and three T20s in Colombo from July 13. With the end of his tour of Sri Lanka on July 25, it seems that Prithviraj Shah will be leaving for England soon. Team India will play a five-Test series against England from August 4 to September 14. Indian cricketers are currently on a 20-day break from the England tour.

Prithviraj Shah, who was disappointed in his tours of New Zealand and Australia last year, then went on to win the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
