New Delhi: 19th day of the sixth month of the year is special in the history of the country and the world for many reasons. This day is recorded in history as the birthday of big political figures of two countries. However, despite being born in the prominent political families of their respective countries, the circumstances and work of these two are completely different. Rahul Gandhi, the president of the Indian National Congress, India’s main political party, and Aung San Suu Kyi, who fought for many years for the establishment of democracy in Myanmar and emerged as a symbol of democracy in the world, was born on June 19.
Rahul Gandhi was born on 19 June 1970 in New Delhi to former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
Myanmar’s Iron Lady Suu Kyi is the daughter of the country’s father of the nation, Aung San, who was politically assassinated in 1947. Suu Kyi fought a long struggle for the establishment of democracy in Burma. He was awarded the Rafto Prize in 1990, the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 and the Jawaharlal Nehru Award by the Government of India in 1992.
