Haiti’s President Jovenel Mois was assassinated on Wednesday at his private residence. The news agency AFP said that the interim prime minister has confirmed the incident.
However, preliminary information is still coming out of Port-au-Prince. Meanwhile, journalist Michael Deebert shared a release, which confirmed that the Caribbean country’s president was assassinated at his private residence by a group of commandos.

Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph said in a statement early Wednesday that a group of unidentified persons attacked and shot dead a private resident of Haiti’s President Jovenel Mois in the middle of the night, according to the Khaleej Times.
According to reports, the president was assassinated by a group of unidentified persons, some of whom spoke Spanish. This incident happened at around 1 am on Wednesday night. According to the Associated Press, the First Lady of Haiti has been hospitalized. The AP tweeted that the President of Haiti was assassinated while the First Lady was hospitalized.
