MUMBAI: The 2nd Twenty20 cricket match between Sri Lanka and England took place in Cardiff yesterday. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored only 111 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Guzal Mendis top-scored with 39 runs. Markwood and Adil Rashid took 2 wickets each for England.

England lost 4 wickets for 36 runs. After 45 minutes of rain, Duckworth-Lewis reduced the deficit to 2 overs and set a target of 103 for victory in 18 overs. England scored 108 for 5 in 16.1 overs and won by 5 wickets. Sam Curran (16) and Liam Livingstone (29) were unbeaten on sixes.

The win gave England a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The last game takes place today in Southampton. Meanwhile, England wicketkeeper Jose Butler has been ruled out of the rest of the series due to a hamstring injury.
