MUMBAI: England captain Eoin Morgan said that the team is in no hurry to return Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler to England.

Stokes fractured his left finger while fielding for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL in April and is playing for Durham in the County Championship after undergoing surgery last month.

Buttler started with an unbeaten 68 in England’s first T20I win against Sri Lanka. But was out of the next two matches and is also not available for the upcoming ODIs against Pakistan.

However, considering the upcoming busy schedule, where the England team has to play the T20 World Cup and the Ashes series, the team would like to give enough time to its two key players. Morgan said, “There is always a fine balance between planning the current match and the T20 World Cup. It also has to be kept in mind that those two players play all formats and they will play in the Ashes as well.

Morgan said in a post-match press conference that the third ODI against Sri Lanka was called off due to rain. “Trying to strike a balance with trying to put out the best team can be difficult at times, but I think at the moment we are spoiled for choice,” Morgan said.
