KOLKATA: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday issued the student credit card at the state secretariat Navan. Students doing research work from class 10th pass will get the benefit of this. Under this, students can easily take education loan up to ten lakhs, which will be guarantored by the state government.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that before the elections, he had announced to give student credit cards to the students. She is completing it on this day. No one’s education will stop due to lack of money.
Through this, students can study not only in Bengal or the country, but also abroad by taking education loan. He told that loan can be taken for studies in other fields including diploma, research, MBBS and engineering through student credit card.
It will also benefit the students studying in various coaching institutes, who are preparing to appear in the national level competitive exams, which include IIT, IIM, NLU, IAS, IPS, WBPS.
The Chief Minister said that this card will be available only to the students of Bengal or those who have been living in Bengal for ten years. Students will get this benefit till the age of forty. After getting the job, 15 years will be given to repay the loan. To be repaid as a soft loan in easy installments.
The government will give ten thousand for the tab. The Chief Minister said that the students going to class 12th would be given ten thousand rupees to buy the tab from the state government. Due to the elections, the work of giving cycles to the students will be started under the closed Sabuj Saathi scheme. Under this, bicycles will be given to 12 lakh students.
