NEW DELHI: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) on Wednesday said that the prices of Amul milk will be increased by Rs 2 per liter across all brands from July 1. RS Sodhi, managing director of GCMMF, which markets milk and dairy products under the Amul brand name, said the price hike is being done after almost a year and seven months, which was necessitated due to increase in cost of production.

He said, “Amul milk prices will be increased by Rs 2 per liter across India from tomorrow. The new prices will be applicable to all Amul milk brands like Sona, Taza, Shakti, T-Special, as well as cow and buffalo milk.

Apart from this, the cost of packaging has increased by 30 to 40 percent, transportation cost by 30 percent and energy cost by 30 percent, due to which the cost of production has increased, he said.
