MUMBAI: India’s second international cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka next month to play three ODIs and three T20I series. Three key players of the Sri Lankan team have been dropped from the series against India. The Sri Lankan team that went to England lost in the first T20 series against that team.

A day before the series, Sri Lanka’s vice – captain Kusal Mendis, opener Danuska Gunathilaka and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dikwella came out of the strict bio – bubble rule and wandered around, according to CCTV cameras. The Sri Lankan cricket administration, which took action against them, had ordered them to return home immediately after the video went viral and exposed their smoking.

The trio returned to their home country yesterday. The trio have also been abruptly dropped from the upcoming series against India as they are being investigated over how the Bio Bubble came out of the norm.

The performance of the trio has caused a great stir among Sri Lankan cricket fans. Credible sources in the country’s cricket administration have said that the trio will be banned from playing in international matches for a year, as former players and cricket fans in the country have been urging them to protect the Sri Lankan team, which is already on the verge of collapse.

The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be played on the 13th of next month at the Colombo Stadium.
